Splash of Colour: November
Firstly, thankyou so much for all the votes and thoughts on my etsy banner. The single bird looking right towards the text (which Sue and I haven’t made yet) has won by a birdy mile. That will be the image at the top of my shop when it opens soon.

As promised, I’ll be photographing and posting colour this week and the first week of every month until February. The images to be found in the Splash of Colour flickr pool are a joy and we’ve only just begun! Thankyou to everyone who has said they’ll join in- I can hardly wait to see. I have a feeling there’ll be some very happy eyes in the next few days.

I’ve noticed that the autumnal trees seem more vivid this year. We haven’t had any strong wind storms in East Anglia so the leaves have clung on for longer. It’s beautiful. When the sun is shining the trees seem to glow. I have to admit that I’m enjoying autumn and the colour is a major part of that.

Pop over to Mrs Speechless - she’s posted some early morning colour too. I never realised before but I know now that I need some Disney princess plasters.
Right. I need to learn how to make mosaics.
(Little P is wearing a pumpkin costume handmade by Gina for her sons when they were small. Those little boys are now men so this is a very precious costume indeed.)

Right, I’ve got my thinking hat on! I drove down to Surrey on Saturday, and like you, I was enthralled by how bright the trees all looked - magical.
Go here for mosaic-making: http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php
but be warned, it’s addictive!

Lovely colours. Like Dragonfly I was in Surrey on Friday and noticed how beautiful the trees are there might it be because they have had less rain that we have in the south west perhaps as our trees though beautiful are not quite so stunning here. I will join in the colour idea as and when I can - seems a great idea to me.

I think the colors seem more vivid this year, too. And I had a pumpkin costume just like that (made by my mum) many moons ago!

you have no idea how delighted I am to ‘hear’ everyone talk about the briliance of the coloursthis Autumn. I thought it was just me, and there is no one else around here I can ask about it and expect a sensible answer.

You’re right, the trees are spectacular this year, and the berries are as plentiful as I remember for a long time. Very photogenic indeed! Little P looks absolutely beautiful in Gina’s costume.

I thought just yesterday that autmn seems to have really arrived in earnest over the last week - we’ve returned home to a season in full swing it seems.
What a cute pumpkin - we have lots of choc left over from last night if she wants to pop down and trick or treat us!

Adorable outfit! As I sit and post this comment it is grey and dull out there, so this project is just what is needed!

That photo of the heart-shaped leaves makes MY heart happy - I keep coming back and looking at it over and over.

Beautiful colours! i agree the trees seem to have a kind of internal light this year which makes them glow, i have taken to driving the long way around just to spend longer looking and watching, i will be sad when they all drop and we are back to grim blandness once again.
Wonderful pumpkin outfit and congrats on the banner, i would definately have chosen the one bird too, less is more as they say!
Happy Wednesday
