I mentioned on Gina’s post that I absolutely hate my handwriting and as I was reading your post it occurred to me that I almost feel that people (as in bloggy-peeps) wouldn’t like me or want to read my blog if they could see my writing. Stupid isn’t it?

    Love your handwriting though!

    And particularly love your doodles.

But most of all LOVE LOVE LOVE that photo of you and little P!

    Locket xxx

I’m with Lucy - my handwriting is appalling and my drawings are even worse.

But I can make flapjacks and admire your skills at both!

PS I have inadvertently stolen 3 of your silicon muffin liners - will return them by Royal Mail asap!

  4. Floss Says:

Wow! What a lovely, DIFFERENT post! I so enjoyed the visual experience as well as the literary one.

I’ve just mentioned you in a post, as I have some little birds on my blog today…

  5. dottycookie Says:

PPS They were still on the muffins! Obviously I didn’t just whip them from your kitchen, though they are more flexible than mine and rather desirably pastel shades.

  6. Gina Says:

What a lovely post! Such stylish handwriting, beautiful doodles and sketches and the most gorgeous picture of you and little P!

This is SUCH a lovely response to the writing “thingie”…… The photo is just gorgeous.

I know what you mean about making the effort to draw more. I seem to draw more and more using the computer just as I use it to write more and more. I don’t know when I last stretched a piece of paper and let colour fill it………..

In answer to your question re what would a letter from me smell like? I don’t know………… (obviously I hope it would smell nice). I have this theory that I could be taken to the individual houses I clean with a blindfold on and I would be able to tell you whose house I was in by the smell……… and I mean that in the nicest of ways. Maybe the smell of my house would get trapped in the letter/envelope? :O)

  8. Pebbledash Says:

Thank you, Emma. I’ve really enjoyed reading this - along with peeking at your handwriting (lovely and creative and expressive), doodles and drawings. I sometimes forget how great the need is to hold a pen or pencil between my fingers, and just let things flow.

  9. Fiona Says:

This handwriting thing has been great. We all seem more self-conscious somehow in our handwritten posts. I love your drawing of Hairy P.

  10. Lynn Says:

What do you know: I’ve been thinking that I could turn my lack of interest in blogging at the moment into an opportunity to write old-fashioned handwritten letters to people. And now to think I could do both simultaneously!

(That photo is the BEST EVER.)

  11. Thimbleanna Says:

Oh how fun — THERE YOU ARE!!! It’s your Wilson pose LOL! Mind if I borrow your little sweetie for a Wilson pose like that for me??? That’s too cute — and both of you little beauties are what make it!!! (Oh — love your handwriting too.)

;-) Smashing post. As you said, handwriting is so much more revealing than type-more personal

  15. Penny Says:

Lovely post. Very artistic writing you have there. I like the drawing of Hairy P too and its always so interesting seeing other peoples doodling.
It was a fun exercise wasn’t it.

  16. Louise Says:

That’s a lovely photo of you and your little P. I won a Platignum handwriting competition as a pupil at primary school! People often comment on how neat my handwriting is, even though I don’t join up my letters. Your doodles are very artistic, I always doodle snails. Not sure what this means? x

  17. Bertie Meadows Says:

Such a lovely, lovely, post, and so true. Hand writing is so much more revealing, it cuts straight to the heart of the matter. You can almost see the thoughts behind the words. Lovely to see a photo of you too. If only we could all hand write our posts, I think blogland would be all the better for it.

  19. felicity Says:

what a lovely post, you can tell from your handwriting that you’re arty and creative! and lovely sketches too! I write a journal not everyday but just the odd thing here and there and its full of sketches and doodles, crossed off words and then re-written! fliss xx

Fab post Mrs Pebble! I think we should all blog in our handwriting from now on. It’s like reading a letter from a chum :o)

Lovely photo of you girls and I love your sketch of Hairy P!

    Hi Emma

I have enjoyed the handwriting on everyones blogs. We all spend so much time writing on the keyboard that we forget about such things. I love looking at peoples’ handwriting and deciding what I can make of it and what sort of attributes they have.

Also I have posted your giveaway prize off last Thursday. I sent a couple of other emails to you but they were both returned by the postmaster thingy. I am not sure why - hence I am resorting to your blog. You may even have received it by now - hopefully you will have. Cathy

  22. jeanne - cottage garden Says:

Your handwriting is just as lovely and creative as your drawing Emma!

This morning, I received the lovely treasures you sent me and they are beautiful. I have tried to email you a couple of times, to thank you properly, but they have bounced back - I will keep trying this afternoon.
I will also pop something on a post very soon.

If I had handwriting like yours Emma… I would be much more inclined to write more often. My writing looks like an inebriated spider has crawled across the page
and even I have problems deciphering it at times..
It does make a difference which pen one uses though..and expensive ink pen seems to produce a more refined hand.
Drawing in ink is a real joy.. I love your sketches.
I still have a doodle I did at art college back in 1978 of a laburnum tree outside the art studio.. I loved the way the ink flowed.

    Love to you and all.
    Michele xx

I love this post. You draw beautifully - I wish I could do that! You’re right, handwriting is a little glimpse into the soul I always think.
