A silver pebble
The lovely sunny days we’ve been having have made me pine for the seaside…again!

With another Open Studios weekend coming up we can’t get there at the moment so I’ve been trying to make my own little bits of beach instead.

This has to be my favourite kind of jewellery-making…

…scouring my stash for tiny shells, pearls and beachcomby-type treasures, making silver pieces to go with them, then putting them together in the spare moments when the girls are asleep or busy playing.
Meanwhile the washing is neglected and piles of mess build up. Hmm. Still, at least there’s something to show for the indulgent-feeling twiddling time.

Despite the recurring beachy theme, there’s one thing I haven’t made since I started this blog. In a way it’s the simplest and knobbliest of all my beachy designs. Something I’m feeling a bit reluctant about selling.

A silver pebble.

How lovely! I like all of them especially the first photo and the ear-rings and then of course the silver pebble and… well all of them!

i have just spent a few days away in a place where you can’t swim in the sea because of jellied stingers and fish with teeth… it made me long for a bucket and spade and the stony shores of Brighton beach! I love the beach collection… right up my street, x

That silver pebble needs to be yours.
The bluey greeny one reminds me of beach glass - we are off to Sark later in the Summer - it is supposed to be great for beach glass collecting. I have high hopes.

Oh they’re all beautiful. I particularly love the second one down: the big silver loops, and the blues and greens so remind me of sea glass. And you most definitely need your very own silver pebble! K x

Do you ever think of making jewellery with sea glass?
July 26th, 2010 at 9:53 am
Hi Emma,
the necklace in the second photo is fabulous, did you sell it at your open studio? If not, I was wondering if it’s still available for sale, and how much it is? I could see my sister wearing this,I’m thinking about her christmas present. It’s a beautiful piece, maybe you’d make more?
